The All-Trench Karate War | OOC Planning Post!
Hello, everyone! It's time for a Sleeper Combat Tournament put on by Johnny Lawrence, Terry Silver, and Ozpin RWBY, plus a few other self-declared combat teachers in town. For the original planning post, look here. (If you'd like to join as a late addition, just jump in below!)
Fights will take place at the Gate. Here are the rules:
To join as a combatant, please post this form!
To join as a noncombatant helper (e.g. a healer, reality manipulator, snack-provider, etc) please comment at the bottom and we'll leave space for you in the tournament log!
Thank you everyone for participating!
Fights will take place at the Gate. Here are the rules:
Now the timeline for both Armed and Unarmed brackets:Each Sleeper combatant must be associated with a Sleeper combat instructor (Johnny, Terry, Ozpin, Sasuke, or Amaratsu). Late additions and handwaved ties are fine! Sleepers can fight in the armed or unarmed bracket, or in both. The use of powers is heavily discouraged and can result in a foul. Excessive force or the injury of combatants is heavily discouraged and can result in a foul. All melee weapons are welcome in armed combat. Each match is to first touch. All parts of the body are valid targets. Three points wins the match. All fighting styles are welcome in unarmed combat. A point is declared when contact is made with head or torso. (A foul is called if you strike the neck, spine, or below the waist.) Three points wins the match.
The log itself will go up once Round One is generated. You can tag as quickly or slowly as you want, and you can handwave fights entirely if you talk it out with your matchup partner.5/14 | Round One | This post goes up. Please comment confirming your participation by 11:59 EST on the 16th. Please state whether you have an opponent in mind (can be from your same school). 5/17 | Round One | If you didn't claim an opponent, you will receive an RNG opponent (will be from a different school when possible). Past this point late arrivals are still welcome, but will be paired with each other. If you OOCly agree on a match winner, please comment confirming the winner by 11:59 EST on the 18th. 5/19 | Round Two | If you didn't declare a match winner, you will receive an RNG winner. Character Name: Goro Akechi
Player Name: Kei
Player Contact:
Armed Bracket: Y
Unarmed Bracket: Y
Skill level: Pretty high! Akechi has spent the past few years fighting monsters and bosses in a stygian labyrinth made out of society's collective subconscious, and he's done most of it solo. He's also pretty vicious and sincerely enjoys combat. That said, he also uses what is effectively some spellcasting in combat so any equally experienced and strictly melee fighters may have an edge over him.
It's also worth noting that he's markedly more skilled in armed combat! Physical fitness and instinct will get him reasonably far in hand-to-hand, but he's only had formal training for approx. 6 months.
Associated Teacher: Ozpin
