I don't know if they have money here actually. It looks like they trade in other things? Like Fern said he managed to trade this sword he made with Usagi to get her some fancy gloves. Money doesn't seem to have much value here at all.
It's okay, I think all you need to do is find some nice shells at the beach and you've got bargaining chips. It doesn't always have to be useful from the looks of things.
I think Fern's got that covered. You shouldn't have to do any job you're not comfortable with.
Him being a plant is a big part of him, so that makes sense. Killing monsters is also something I think of when it comes to him though. He is a hero after all.
