Varian shifts up from the legs having down what he can right now- he's a little bit stuck until they can find some materials to do the repair work he needs. But it'll do for now. Maul isn't about to lose the use of his legs and that's... well that matters. He looks up, taking note of the people too.
"It's weird, right? The people, I mean," he doesn't trust it, and it's evident in his tone that he doesn't. "People are like this in Corona and it's- well I don't know. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. It was never that easy in Deerington, why should it be here?"
Maul mimes a person walking along using two of his fingers and then squashes them flat with a fist made out of his other hand. Yep, he agrees, this all may be to lull them into a false sense of security. Then the trap would spring and they'd all be caught in it. He's far too full of distrust to believe otherwise.
At least he can rely on the Sleepers that were his friends and allies. While he didn't have an easy time trusting them either, he knows where he stands with them all.
A wry chuckle bubbles out of him and he nods. That is a very good way of putting it.
"Yeah, exactly. I mean, maybe we will be lucky and this is actually fine. I'm just not willing to bet my life on that yet."
Maybe in a few months he'll be a little more settled, but you can't undo nearly a year and a half of trauma overnight. How dangerous this place will be remains to be seen.
