Do you really think that after all this time, it's an infection that's going to do me in?
[ She had a really good streak of not dying back in Deerington, okay! And that involved dodging a bunch of stuff that was a lot more dangerous than a small cut!
.. though Ange may not have been paying enough attention in biology class to know just how badly one small cut can end up.
Which means that she's still speaking in the same casual tone as she asks: ]
What are you looking for? [ She sees you rummaging in that bag, mister! ]
You never know! Sometimes it's the thing you least expects that gets you!! Infections can spread super fast, and you've been in the ocean which is filthy and we don't even know what sort of pathogens are in this completely new world!
[His worry is not ebbing even slightly, as he keeps digging in his bag. ]
[ Varian is truly reaching 'concerned mom' levels of worrying here. But considering Ange's own earlier worrying, she at least won't deny him the opportunity to fuss here - nor is she going to make the problem worse by doing something dumb. She will just be over here, patiently waiting until he can find something.
Even though she's still not looking too worried. ]
You kind of sound like a doctor now.
[ .. and she's not being too helpful with that remark either. But look, what else is she supposed to do, stand here in awkward silence? ]
[Sometimes, people just need a Mom Friend. Varian's not usually the first person to go to for this level of concern, but it's been a long day and he's getting to his last nerve. He lets out an AH-HAH! pulling out what looks like a grass toga. He starts ripping that into a strip- it's not perfect, but at least he knows where it's been.
He snorts lightly at her comment.]
I'm definitely not. I can do a basic bandage and that's it. Unless you want a fast-acting poison or a truth serum, this is about as far as I go. Gimme your arm, let me at least stop the bleeding.
There, no fuss. Even if Ange might not have made the best life decision just now, at least she's not making some huge problem out of how She's Totally Fine And He's Not Allowed To Treat It. She's fine with this just happening now. ]
I don't know. In any good murder mystery, a doctor who can provide either of those things would be very important.
[ Because of course that's the angle she's going to view it from. ]
The doctor poisoning someone is basically a classic.
[He's very glad she's not fighting him on this as he gets to wrapping her arm up. It's not a pretty job- he's no Eddie- but it'll at least keep the weird glitter blood on the inside. He laughs.]
I guess it can't be the butler every time, and that is fair. I know lots of poisons that would kill someone super fast and leave like... no trace.
[Varian, that's... not a thing to brag about. He finishes wrapping her arm up sitting back.]
[ Ange pulls her arm back to herself once he's done, staring at the makeshift bandage for a moment. Ange isn't a medical expert in the slightest, but.. well, it seems fine to her. It's doing the job, after all.
Also, yes, she still seems very calm. Despite him casually admitting that. Hey, she knows that it's not like he'd ever use that against her. ]
I guess you've got quite the duality going on, mister bandaging his friends and poisoning his enemies.
[He never, ever would. She's in the Circle of Friendship now, he'll never poison her. She's safe. ]
Hah, what can I say? I know how to take care of my friends and take care of my enemies.
[Like attempted murder and suchlike!]
But hey, at least you're okay now. I'll... I'll take that. I guess I need to try and work out what's happening with our blood...preferably without all the open bleeding.
