Wh-yeah? Yes, we've met before! Back in-

[Before he can say exactly where they met, the wave pushes them down into the water, shoving them past the rocks and through into a cave system. Varian breaks the surface, gasping for breath- more memories are untangling and panic is setting in as he looks desperately for the man, waiting for him to break into the cave.]

[The Doctor felt the other being swept away and separated from him. Following his instincts, swims with the current. Later, Ten pops up gasping for breathe. Immediately calling out for the other]

Hallo! Where'd you go?! Where are you?

[The Doctor ducks underwater for a few moments looking around in that area. Then pops up again. Oh, crap. How did that happen? How could he allow that to happen?]

[droptheious]

[Varian heaves out a breath of relief at seeing the Doctor pop up out of the water, waving desperately from the quasi0shore of the rocks. ]

I'm here! It's... well I don't know if it's any better but it's out of the water! Over here!

[borntolove]

[Ten calms down and turns in the direction of the voice]

YOU! Oh you! So glad you're alright. Sorry, what's your name?

[Don't mind the hug, Varian.]

Everything alright with you?

[Varian definitely wasn't expecting the hug, but he will return it. The lack of memory is... a concern, but then, his are still sliding into place. Maybe it's affected all of them?]

Varian. I'm Varian. And I'm... probably going to be better when I'm not in a spooky cave with my leg missing?

[borntolove]

[The Doctor squats down to Varian for a moment. Those brown eyes locking onto Varian's]

We'll be okay. Promise.

[Even if he's not entirely sure. He will do everything possible to keep Varian safe. The first thing is picking Varian up, and swinging the boy on-to his back in a piggy back style.]

Oh! Um... okay!!

[He's just gonna be scooped, he guesses!!! He doesn't really fight it though, because honestly, he needs the help and he trusts the Doctor enough to do it anyway. He's just gonna cling like a 'lil koala.]

Good to finally match a name to a face. I'll come around eventually... At least I hope.

[Than an undertone of 'silly']

You didn't think I was going to you thar like that, did you?

It's okay, I'm sure it'll be fine. It's probably just...weird new world stuff.

[He chuckles a little.]

I doubt it. From what I remember, that's not your style.

New world stuff?

[The Doctor asks. After a few moments, there are random flashes of something before all of this]

This is a new world, isn't it?

Good! Good to know you know me better than I know me. And that me is sort of in the right direction.

It is a new world. Do you remember the door? The... [something else clicks in his mind] the flower beach?

[He smiles a little.]

Oh yeah, definitely. And it's ok, I think it just...takes time for everything to make sense again.

[Ten is popping his mouth for a few moments. The Doctor finds himself having vague memories of some sort of strange door. He's waiting - he was waiting for someone.]

You mean the hole in the gap of the fabric of reality shaped like a door?

[droptheious]

[Varian snaps his fingers, pointing at Ten like he's just got the correct answer in a pop quiz.]

You got it! That's the door! Or the... reality-gap shaped like a door. Either one.
