Sleeper Archive Mingle + Cuddle Plague Player Plot

Hey folks! Two things:

The Sleeper Archive is a gathering of nerds (network post, older network post) who prefer to collect their lore-heavy, anti-Pthumerian, or highly corrupting research beyond the walls of Trench. Jon keeps a red string wall about the Deerington-era NPCs there, he's gathering artifacts that relate to the Old Ones who seem to predate the Pthumerians, etc.

The location is a day's walk north of town, or reachable by lamp. It's a shitty old bunker compound built by a cult that predated Trench... with a more extensive tunnel system yet to be mapped below. If you have any CR with Jon or tagged his network post, feel free to assume an invite to the Archive mingle log.

Everyone who visits the mingle, or who later crosses paths with a mingle attendee (to make this fully OTA and opt-in), can be exposed to a curse. It's a facet of the great eldritch evils from TMA which are anchored to Jon.

The curse targets people who emotionally distance themselves and who are desperate to be useful or needed. Once infected, a character begins to take on physical traits themed around whatever they consider a reprehensible, unlovable version of themself. (This could reflect their Beast form, bad-end canon form or shadow self, etc.) They grow weaker and their senses degrade as the curse tries to terrify them with the idea that they'll die useless and alone.

The curse progresses more rapidly when corruption is high. In low-corruption Trench, it's mild! Receiving comfort and intimacy will cure the curse - for example, having someone you care about touch or acknowledge your monstrous parts. Happy hope month, enjoy your pep talks.

In high-corruption Riteoir town, it can get a lot worse. Badly cursed characters may suffer worsening self-loathing and start taking on warped traits of the people who reach out to them, as though their very sense of self is breaking down... and their physical body with it. Inflict whatever thematic body horror you want! To cure a case this bad, you'll have to remind a Sleeper of who they truly are: it'll take a gesture of true connection.

This is 100% opt-in and isn't intended as anything major, just some extra spice for hope month. Feel free to plot in the comments below. Thank you!
