He has a dark power, but he's kind enough, and he helps at the Sanctuary. I don't think he means any harm. He's been fortifying a holdfast outside the city. It's always under attack by Beasts and strange creatures. Outside of Trench this whole land is overrun with them. They always need fighters to head them off. I suppose it's very good training.
