That mental image does crack me up. He sits in the grass and there's just always a burned spot that gets covered up by the tree's influence whenever he leaves... lmfao. I'll have to check with the Wanda to see how she envisions the warding, but given the dumb off the charts scale of her magic I think it's one of those things where no one would even notice, especially since the tree's aura smooths out thoughts makes people feel more at ease/reduces corruption. I think it's more that people would feel entirely normal and able to use their normal abilities unless they made a move with the intent of violence/destruction -- and then nothing happens. Just around the tree at least. protect the tree

2. I like that, it's a good way to establish a rapport that they're both invested in I think. (And no, gross, he doesn't want to do that thanks. Shoves staples and antiseptic at him to go do it himself like a big boy.) But yeah, all of that is stuff Allen's had to learn, and as Shouto noted after seeing it his daily routine is basically like Hero patrol with how he engages with citizens.... lmfao. Especially with merchants and business owners, so he has a really good feel for what people need, notably in Crenshaw and Willful Machine. It pays to be friendly and talkative.

YEAH... YEAH IT'S SUFFERING SOMETIMES... items washing up all the time from other worlds was one of the more recent hidden nuggets I realized. Missed it outright for ages. Also, there's a lot that hides back in old event write-ups; general setting stuff that sure, was common during that one month but is also less commonly around in other months. The good news about the shores they wash up on at least is that they go on for miles; it'll still smell like the ocean but hey, at least he doesn't have to stay where the all the fish get gutted. lol Good shit is gonna be less picked over further out too.

4. One day I will read this series just so I can get my heart fucking smashed by Todorokis. god. And ha! It would be the friendly sort. ... "Friendly". Allen has two very general ways he interacts positively with people: impossibly sweet/kind/sincere, or snarky and trading dry witty barbs that are mostly good-natured (okay, that's negative cr too when it's relaxed). Mostly. But he honestly finds it fun if the other person responds in kind and is a way he gets along with people, and something tells me it will veer in that direction with Dabi if they're civil, lol. But we'll see! He's impossible to predict like that, it depends on how other people react.

Yeah! Trade and information bartering thing first! Where Allen would have heard of this guy who scavenged a lot of useful things from other worlds and wouldn't realize it's Dabi at first... but figures it out by the time he's already committed to it/eh, what's the worst that could happen. And we can see where it goes from there.

Good thing it's not like that normally. His Quirk doesn't ooze out of him so no risk of melting chairs or burning grass where he sits down unless he wants to. He definitely wouldn't notice, but he might inquire about something like that. People want to keep corruption and monsters away, and the incense is supposed to do that, so what if there were other ways? And thus the comment might get spilled and he'll nope! Or just keep his visits quick and private. He's a selfish bastard. Don't bug him during a nap and he won't burn your face off.

2. Sounds good! (It was totally gross and he's done it forever, so stfu you pious pierrot.) Gross, hero patrol. Not about to do that, but he might become one of those "pay me and I'll take care of your problem" type hunters, so long as they don't stress the "take care of" part equates to non-fatal. Not gonna be a nice guy cause you paid him for it. They can talk more about it over the course of the meeting.

Ocean smell is fine, but fish guts and meat is off putting. He's not gonna gag if it's shoved in his face, but he certainly was quick to wave off his portion of fish to his ally. One of that "knock yaself out; i hate fish" casual things. So it's not a revulsion that'll hurl his guts. Still, beach combing. And good to know some of those event things can get wrapped up in the general lore of the game. I know when I was apping there were pieces of information I totally missed. Like the omens for one, haha! Didn't find out about those till after? (I mean, I think I had a general omen write up, but didn't realize they were customizable until it was pointed out.) Maybe he'll camp out there some night. Go further than normal. Then again, he can fly with his flames, so he can cover a lot of ground if needed.

4. Hah! If you think it's just the Todoroki's that'll smash your heart, be ready for a whole lot more. There's a lot of tragic shit in MHA, plus plenty of "aww" moments too. Totally encourage the dive. (Plus it's on its way to wrapping up, so a good time to jump in.) Guess he's gonna have to decide which one gets a better camaraderie out of Dabi. (Hint, the latter.) Cause he's never gonna get sweet/kind/sincere outta this guy. Well, maybe a sincere "I wanna burn you to a crisp" comment. But in all honestly, most of the time Dabi's pretty chill. Rude and sarcastic, but rarely acting out. He's more apt to ignore something than explode over it. Not worth his effort, kinda thing.

Okay, that's what I wanted to know. So the way I'd figure is that they wouldn't meet wherever Dabi has his shit stored (duh) but then work out a trade vocally at another location, before they go get their respective items and bring them back. The former could be done via omens if you like? Even if Allen knows it's him.

True! It's however you want to play it. The guardian sapling itself cleanses corruption in a fairly large aura and can even tame less violent beasts because that's it's nature, that's what most people understand and would say. It's just also vulnerable, what most people don't know unless Amaterasu told them. As such only the player characters actively involved would probably know it's warded, but since Dabi's the sort to lurk and listen it wouldn't be that hard for him to overhear Allen and Palamedes or someone talking about it since Palamedes gets excited about wards. lmao you know, drifting in after dark when it's quieter seems more his style anyway

(he is the least pious person, he doesn't even give a shit about any god!! in fact he honestly kind of hates "god"!! when will people shut up about this and his being a priest, ugh) No one said you had to patrol!! gosh he's going to give you all the good inside information on who usually needs what and will pay or give favors without you having to do all that. That's why you should give him a good deal ✰

You know there's another one of the guardian saplings that cleanses corruption out on the shores too, so if he camped there I'd laugh my ass off. Because that's where Shouto camped for a week while waiting for Allen to come back.

4. LMAO.... you know he figured out real quick from that dip into his soul what sort of person he is overall, and how that YEAH. THE SWEET AND KIND APPROACH... NOT SO MUCH. The closest I think he'd come, and his baseline, is a neutral sincerity and honesty. But laid back dry sarcasm is also his bread and butter when that side of him is engaged by the right cr so honestly, I'm kind of excited to see how that plays out. I love banter.

hmmmMMMMMMmmm. How do you visualize Dabi usually brokers his trades, since I presume he's also trading with npcs to get by? I was sort of envisioning if there's rumor mill around him and that there's a place he can usually be found for discussing transactions with people, Allen would try to track him down there to meet him first in person. (His omen, Tim, is also dumb good at that.) Even 100% knowing it's Dabi, that's actually MORE reason he wouldn't use omen or omni to contact him first. Because, just... after everything that happened -- the last thing he is going to want to have as the first time they exchange words after that is something over the network. _{Allen's old fashioned. Literally.} Would that work?

The second thing that occurred to me, after they talk, is that if he has to go get the items then, he'd probably ask him if he could just bring them directly to Sanctuary -- and he'd even "pay" extra. _{Look. He's very able and can carry quite a bit in his wheelchair that Viktor modified, but if we're doing actual business here... come on.} Which could actually be the segue between the two thread ideas itself actually? Invites him in to play cards and cleanse his corruption for a while.

At worst he'll figure out "tree's presence helps corruption go away" and leave the importance at that. Of course, if/when he finds out it's successful (and doesn't end up walking out after realizing he's getting mind weirded), Dabi might be selfishly willing to defend it if something does come looking to stomp the thing and that non-violence thing isn't in effect. But that's looking at a very specific outcome with a lot of factors to be in alignment and he's not that nice anyways. Still, he does lurk and listen and if he's able to glide in for some late night cleansing without getting interrupted/bothered, then more power to him.

2. Ngl, due to their first impressions, Dabi's gonna call him "priest" just cause Allen doesn't like it, not cause he thinks he really is one. Exorcist, priest, shaman, fake, whatever. Hey, if he wants to become an informant or point out hits, Dabi's not gonna turn the information down. Take some names of useful people to ask shit about. If he's willing to do it for free, then that's just bonus for him. He's take advantage of nice people all day.

... whelp, guess where he's gonna end up camping out. Without knowing. This tree makes him feel good, and that's a real rarity in his life, so park his burned butt there for a while. And collect beach shit along the way.

4. HA! Well most people's souls/minds certainly reveal their true nature. His is shattered, burned up, and twisted, so sorry not sorry Allen had to deal with Touya's major issues. Snark at him and he might tolerate the visit. So long as it's not continual, cause then that gets annoying. It'll be interesting to see how they go. And who brings up what sensitive topic first.

Well as for market trades, he's more keen to steal when he can rather than serve up his blood to someone. He did do a trade with "shiny stones" at one request, but probably asked around for what people wanted and then went to go see what he could find or do to procure that. Of course, if they changed their mind or tried to cheat him, then he probably altered the deal to "your life or the deal" sort of threat, cause he's murdered people for way less. So that's how I figure he does his deals. At first he'll work out something he feels is fair, then try to fulfill it; if they renege, he'll threaten them.

As for rumor mills, let me check the location page and get back to you on that. Cause he might end up haunting a few places where that's a thing. Likely something darker and back alley style. But yes, once I get a place down, I'm all for Allen hearing about some guy setting up deals (and then threatening to kill---or maybe has killed---anyone who goes back on the deal) and figuring out it's Dabi. Then he can hang out until Dabi shows up and they meet again in person. He prefers old fashioned as well, but is also quite good with using phones or whatever.

Oh that's a good idea! They could broker a trade and then Dabi could bring it to the Sanctuary, which would kick off the second part of the thread. I like that idea very much. (Gonna scoff at the wheelchair, but hey, brought that on yourself.)

Hey, defending out of selfishness is still defending haha. But yeah, the whole point of the courtyard and tree is it's a quiet space for people to relax and nap/meditate/ease some of their corruption. It's probably the best place there period not to be bothered, else it defeats the point. If he's around he'd make sure of that too because lbr it's in everyone's best interests no one bothers Dabi... Just peers by and squints for a moment to make sure everything's okay, no one's about to die, then continues on...

4. Yeah no, unlikely he'd stomp over a line like that, and if he briefly did he's immediately backpedal. Allen is an extremely tactful and conscientious person, even when he's being snarky or contrary with someone. At least he tries. Sometimes tense battle/etc situations can push him to have to push more than even he's comfortable doing. /looks at soulscape thread He's very observant and thoughtful (tries) and tries to read a person, room, and situation before he acts. That's why I say it's very hard for me to predict exactly how he'll react because it depends on all the tiny little ways someone else reacts and how he interprets that before he goes one of many possible routes lmjfds. Even when being cheeky, it's only when he knows it isn't overstepping. Kid just doesn't act his age.

/nodsnodsnods I like that idea of the setup for where Allen will track him down! Just let me know where you decide, but offhand it sounds like Crenshaw might be good if he's going a bit for that more back alley vibe. (Other than Darcmouth but yknow... fish.) And hahaha, he'll be just fine using omens/omnis after this! But the first time they speak... not even just after the whole purification/death thing, but technically also the first time they've spoken as themselves PERIOD? Yeah he clutches at his pearls at the thought of doing that in any way other than face to face lmao.

If he's there and the other stipulations align. Otherwise he'll just go keep the one at the shore safe cause meh, better tree or something. It's "quiet" over there too if you ignore the waves, or don't mind trading them for the inane mumbling you'd hear at the sanctuary. Generally not bothering Dabi when he doesn't want to be bothered is a good way to not get hurt, that's true.

2. He's gonna line face at his little brother. How's it hard to convince him not to call someone something? You just don't. Unless you're a dick and choose to keep calling them that. Like some people they know... (Gotta love Shouto's dense head sometimes.) Go ahead, he's probably heard the majority of those witty barb if they're directed at him. Feel free to comment on any shady shit that happens and he may or may not acknowledge it.

Stuff it. It's just a stupid tree. Anyone could sit under it. *grump*

4. Think Allen knows which areas to avoid, so they should be safe to have a few conversations or more. But definitely snarking at each other. Talk about Endeavor cause he enjoys raking his dad over the coals. And if they do end up having a battle over some monster, they can yell at each other again. (No one likes acting their age, lbr. Especially when it comes to manga and anime.)

I went ahead and put up a catchall for dabi. I'll add a few other prompts over the week to flesh it out, but got the trade one up first. Didn't opt for Crenshaw because that place sounded more like it's the neighborhoods with normal civilians rather than a place where people go shopping and conducting business. Unless you wanna peddle from door to door. Did have the back alley vibe, but still... seemed more a walled group of homes and residential areas than a place to do some actual business in trades. He'll have to pass through Darcmouth to get to the shores anyways, so ugh is him about it.

Good. They definitely need some time to speak one on one without the stupid influence messing shit up. Dabi's still not of the highest opinion of him, but more irked at his nosiness into his soul rather than his efforts to stop monsterdad.

So I love everything and I think this even better for leading to the trade thread. What I'm thinking is that since you said you're going to be gone for the next week, I'm fuckall dying in glorious tags from two active posts atm, and since Allen will be talking with Shouto about Dabi first that we'll do the trade thread when you get back? (Prompt is perfect for that btw!) Allen will be more recovered by then too, and it gives my inbox time to die down and Blythe and I to thread lol.

Well if he is keeping tabs, then he would've commented, so why the hell not? Let'm clash some. But yeah, this'll make it easier for the trade thread to go through, like you said, since Allen'll have a bit more "well he's not actively out to kill me" thoughts on Dabi.

Yeah, I'll have limited internet next week, so probably only get to things once every day or two. Hah, doubt your inbox will die down any time soon, but I'll pick back up on things the following Monday at a usual speed. If you wanna respond, then I will in time, and if you wanna wait, that's fine too. I should get his other two prompts up as well, though I won't get to his event stuff until after I get back.

Ironic in that Dabi's also using the Far Shore tree to rest under a good portion of the time after his beach combing. That's one of the prompts i have to write up... I'll put priority on that this week, his Inbox and the other two prompts. Tomorrow. Yes.
