Hello Deer! I've been mumbling about it on Discord, but now is the time to not be terrified and post about it here!
After talking with mods ad-nauseum about Beast purification and Beast souls and the joint efforts of multiple characters in-game, a new location and baby player organization in the making called the Sanctuary is now kicking off. General information is on its location page, and I just posted the first IC log for characters meeting/getting involved. Allen will soon have a top level for people wanting to jumpstart it with him directly since he... got wrangled and is the main contact/person lmao.
Is this going to be successful by default? Outshine the Hunters? Any Beast can now be saved? OF COURSE NOT! This is a horror game! Brutal, soul-crushing things are fun! And I've already talked with mods about ideas for conflict plots later on in the summer and the IC repercussions an organization and movement like this could have. This is an outlet for characters to pursue their kinder-hearted notions regarding saving Beasts versus hunting and killing them more often than not (or... risking them to the Lumenarium/Soma...), especially since we have quite a few with canon exorcism/purification powers, and perhaps try to influence Trench attitudes. On that note too, does your character hate this idea? Morally opposed to it? Just want to be a dick to these guys?! Dear god please jump in, strife and discourse is great. I'll be providing regular setting updates as things start leading one way or another based on what involved characters (you! yes you!) do and asking mods about setting repercussions/overall plot ideas...
Do I know where this is going? No! It depends on who gets involved and how!
I'll also be summarizing everything I've discussed with mods about the further nature of Beasts and their souls here later on as they gave me many tidbits and things with potential, I'm just... tl;dr and coded out, and this month is just the beginning of renovations on Sanctuary, not any organized push yet for their own Beast patrols and coordinated purification/exorcism efforts. Soon!
On that note, I'll try to have a network post from Allen up later this month so people can connect that way as well. Just let me weep a bit over my tag load first.
