November 2021 Event Plotting

NOVEMBER 2021 PLOTTING POST
Please use this post to plot with other players and keep track of your plans for this month's event! You can ask specific questions about the event down below. If you are ever waiting on a question, please feel free to reach out to Milk directly.

This post will be updated with the Live Event once it is posted. Plotting posts are always made on the 5th and events always go live on the 8th.

PROMPT 1: MUSHABOOMING
CONTENT WARNINGS: Poisonous mushrooms that induce paralysis and suffocation and violent hallucinations.

Come November, Trench is flourishing with a wide variety of mushrooms. Mushrooms can be found growing in the woods, around your house, and maybe even on your house if you're especially lucky...Or unlucky, depending on the type of mushroom.

The mushroom is considered to be arguably the most important food source in Trench. It's the easiest to find and grow, and one of the easiest to harvest. It's a dependable source of protein and can fill people up. They are filled with vitamins that directly help your blood and heart health and can help keep your digestive system on track. But not everyone is a mushroom farmer and most Trenchies wind up foraging for their own mushrooms. Woven baskets are sold just about everywhere to help forage. Omens are extremely good at scenting out edible mushrooms.

The following edible mushrooms can be found/grown throughout Trench: button, portobello, cremini, oyster, chanterelle, porcini, black trumpets, morels, enoki, shimeji, shiitake, and giant puffballs. If you are extremely lucky, you might even find rare truffles. Truffles can be exchanged for highly valuable goods such as magnificent jewels and specialized weapons. Or you can keep the truffles to yourself and use them in a nice dish.

It is said there are hundreds of unique species of mushrooms to Trench. The following mushrooms are permanent features in Trench and can be found most commonly during Bone Season:

WALKING TERRORS

These parasitic mushrooms seem to "walk" around the forest floor. Arcane scholars have determined that their motion is actually just a natural response to stimuli in the environment and helps the fungi to spread its spores onto living hosts. Once you have been exposed to a cloud of these spores, you will immediately begin to hallucinate the world around you warping into a terrifying hellscape. Some say that Walking Terrors have driven people to beasthood in a matter of minutes. But there is a huge benefit to finding Walking Terrors: their caps, once dried and crushed down, are an ample treatment option for corruption. The tricky part is actually getting them. Covering your entire body, head to toe, completely is one way of avoiding the spores and probably the easiest way. Does anyone have a hazmat suit? Another option is knowing a darkblood or someone with similar abilities who can manipulate the direction of the spores in the air by pushing them away. Once the caps have been removed from the rest of the mushroom, the spores seem to lose their nightmarish quality and, at most, will just make you sneeze.


FLOATERS

These mushrooms come out exclusively at night and float lazily through the air. They bob and bump around, their tentacles searching for something to cling to and settle on. They mostly search for tree branches but have been known to accidentally cling to animals and people. The tentacles paralyze any sentient being it lands on. The good thing is that the cap and the little mushrooms on top are completely harmless to touch so if you have a buddy around, they can pull them off with no problem. You'll regain the ability to move your body a few seconds after the tentacles have been removed. The paralytic quality of these tentacles do not impact vilebloods. These mushrooms dried out and cooked are said to amplify electric abilities in coldbloods for a short moment of time. They can also be used to enchant an item with paralytic properties.


WEEPERS

These rare mushrooms can pop up just about anywhere. Only one grows every hundred feet or so and they don't get any bigger than a penny. Weepers are highly sought after since they have been known to greatly reduce corruption. Consuming a Weeper raw will immediately calm someone down, get rid of any current anxiety, wash away depression and paranoia, and clear the mind of hallucinations. Weepers can sharpen the mind and help increase focus. The effect lasts for days and sometimes even weeks. It isn't a permanent cure but it sure beats having a panic attack. Weepers can be collected and saved indefinitely. There are no other uses for them than mental relief, and they must be consumed raw. Cooking a Weeper will get rid of its healing properties - but it does add great flavor to a dish! If a mentally stable person eats them, there will be no effect.


BLUE CHEEKS

These radiant mushrooms grow in clusters on healthy trees and seem to thrive among vegetation. You might find Blue Cheeks in your own garden. They are certainly pretty, but you don't want to eat these. They will cause you to slowly suffocate - even if you don't typically need to "breathe" in the traditional way. It's an agonizing way to go. Your body will start to experience micro-seizures as it locks up, your throat slowly closing up, lungs squeezing inward. It will begin to feel like someone is sitting on your chest and there will be no relief. Your cheeks start to turn blue. Most who eat Blue Cheeks wind up dead, but if someone forcibly makes you vomit shortly after consuming a Blue Cheek, you may be able to survive. Some harvest Blue Cheeks and smash them up to coat their weapons in the jelly-like substance. This substance causes the same effect but must be used while the Blue Cheek jam is still wet. It will stay wet for an hour.

PROMPT 2: THE SLEEPER FARM
CONTENT WARNINGS: Kidnapping, claustrophobia, harvesting blood/organs, imprisonment, temporary nerf of powers, blood sacrifice, brief amnesia, confusion, loss of time, breathing in blood, treatment of humanoids(?) like livestock, themes of meat markets, themes of torture, mutilated corpses, mutilating injuries.

The blood pollution is thick this month and the more a Sleeper is exposed, the more a Sleeper will find themselves falling into a strange stupor. You seem to forget what you were doing, where you are, what time it is. You will find it increasingly difficult to use your blood powers. Some may lose their new abilities entirely. It's like trying to wake up from a deep dream, everything's sluggish and hazy.

Then you blink. That's all. Maybe you went to sleep or wash your face. When you open your eyes again, you're somewhere else entirely and have no recollection of how you got there. Your body has a deep ache, you're filthy, hungry, and feel like it's somehow been days. You have nothing on you except a drab red jumpsuit. No shoes. No Omni. No weapons.

THE STALLS: 1st FLOOR


If you're lucky, you wake up in a stall with another Sleeper (or more). You can hear and feel the dull vibration of heavy machinery chugging around you; you can smell oil and something thick and musty fermenting.

You are in some way restrained upon waking, whether through shackles to the wall, one another, or some other means. Whatever put you here doesn't want you to escape. You can barely access your powers (for now), but maybe you can find help in nearby Sleepers.

Once you escape, you almost wish you had stayed in your stall. The stalls are the only thing that's farmlike about the Sleeper Farm. It's an architectural masterpiece of steel pistons gyrating, metal staircases heading in every direction, steam-powered doors that exhale open upon an approach. Oil drips continually from above, like filthy rainfall, but every now and then, so does blood of all kind. Never enough to detect the source immediately though.

Your only real option left is to...explore. And this metal palace is huge. You will find various tools for construction around: wrenches, hammers, saws, nails, anything you'd find at a hardware store. You could come across workboots, protective gloves, helmets with lights. The metal around you is boiling hot, and if you're not careful, getting burns is all too easy. You can hear something banging around above. You may even see movement through metal slots of humanoids rushing away. Then you start to find the source of the blood...

STORAGE: 2-9th Floors


Sleepers have been strung up in various locations. Maybe they are ones you recognize, maybe they are you (if you're unlucky enough to wake up like that), or maybe they are completely foreign to you, maimed beyond recognition. Many have been pinned up and mutilated in some way, whether fully skinned and bled dry, or body parts removed, skin carved into. Some have buckets beneath them to collect blood while others seem to have been decoratively destroyed. There is no saving some, but there is saving many. Some might have only just been strung up, still alive, still fully intact, and without any harm done just yet...But no matter what, most won't remember how they got there.

The further you go, the more bodies you come across. Some bodies have been rolled up into bags and tossed into empty rooms in piles. The floor is slick with blood, and the metal maze becomes increasingly complex with tighter turns and thicker blood pollution. It becomes difficult to breathe without ingesting in some kind of blood - but on the other hand...Your powers begin to work because of it. You can start to feel it coming back to you. You can feel yourself slowly start to regain your strength. Which is probably for the best, since you're not out of this hell just yet.

BLOOD HARVEST: 10th Floor


You enter a perfect, circular room built out of pure bloodstone from the different blood types, neatly flushed together in a mesmerizing display of artistry and architecture. At the center of a room is an enormous golden statue of The Tower, hands held out with palms open.

Filling the palms of the statue and surrounding the base of the Tower are hundreds of organs, perfectly intact, given to the statue in sacrifice. The miraculous thing, however, is the fact that most of the organs still seem to be functioning - or at the very least, they aren't rotting the way they should be. It isn't something one wishes to look at for too long.

More importantly, are the five doors that represent the five different blood types. Each door is made from the same gray wood, but with a single bloodstone in the center. Beyond the door is where you come to discover the true horror of where you are.

You're in a Sleeper Farm. Sleepers have been organized by blood types into a vast room. Some cannot be saved, opened up on tables, their organs already carved out and given over to the sacrifice. Others are still alive, but hooked up to tubes, their blood being pumped into vats kept in the ceiling. More disturbingly are the bodies of Sleepers that barely look like Sleepers at all anymore - they have been stripped so thoroughly of everything, left like hunks of meat on hooks. There are fires stoked towards the back, with shelves of jars with blood vials and bloodstones.

It's probably time to wonder who did this to you. Who brought you to this place?

And probably how the hell you get out.

QUICK FACTS

1. To avoid this prompt, you can simply handwave your character getting lucky or Wearing a gas mask and full facial/bodily coverage to help keep the likelihood of blood pollution impact lower.

2. If characters don't have eyes, any variation of vulnerability will count (ie; turning away from something, putting on headphones, etc).

3. Characters cannot have their Omni or any other item in this prompt except items they find along the way. They can still summon their Omens. Omens can help guide Sleepers, and provide communication. One can use Omens to transmit messages to the Network. However, characters cannot find their way to this location from outside. This is a by-chance location.

4. You can choose your character's level of restraint (muzzles/handcuffs/etc) and how easily they can escape them (maybe the shackles can be broken apart with enough strength or you need a nearby key).

5. Those whose Patron is the Tower will be able to more easily navigate the Sleeper Farm and figure out its continually moving parts. They may get a "telepathic" swaying by the Tower to go in the right direction. They will also instinctively know that they are inside the Tower's body in some way.

6. Characters can wake up in any part of the Tower and experience this prompt multiple times.

7. To get out, one must sacrifice some sort of blood or an organ directly to the Tower whether their own or someone else's. This will transport a Sleeper back into town in a random location. Alternatively: Moon Presence will be saving Sleepers by "pulling" them out of this place at random. It will feel a lot like traveling through the lamps, but Sleepers will realize it's the Moon Presence instead. She will place them back in their homes. This can be done at any time.

8. This prompt is meant to go hand-in-hand with the third prompt, but it is not required to engage with both.

PROMPT 3: BLOOD CRAZED ZEALOTS
CONTENT WARNINGS: Severe disorientation, psychological horror, paradoxical horror, feelings of being trapped/lost, Cenobites/beings with extreme bodily modifications, themes of mental and physical torture.

You are not alone in the Sleeper Farm, and someone powerful has brought you here. It wasn't the Tower though. It was someone obsessed with the Tower. Or...obsessed with blood.

They lurk throughout Trench, never letting themselves be known until they want to be known. They abduct Sleepers in the blink of an eye, masters of reality-bending and experts of blood abilities.

Meet the Blood-Crazed Zealots.

Or, as you will come to learn through various interactions, ancient Sleepers who have been exposed to blood pollution for far too long and who have been completely corrupt by it. These are masters of their blood magic, darkblood magicians who can snap their fingers and rip a Sleeper off the streets. Palebloods who can make you forget who you are, where you are. Vilebloods who have mastered the exact skill of extracting blood and harvesting it for bloodstones and sacrifices. Warmbloods who have gladly given their bodies up to power the Tower. Coldbloods who keep the metal machinery of the Sleeper Farm running perfectly.

These are the Sleepers who learned to survive in a different way, Sleepers who learned to cohesively blend their skills together to not only survive but excel. Most have completely disfigured themselves, claiming it to be an act of religious commitment to the "Patron Pthumerians that guide us."

The Blood Crazed Zealots believe that they must continually sacrifice Sleepers to the Tower primarily in order to keep the city of Trench strong against corruption. And the thing is...They technically aren't wrong. The Bone Season is when Trench becomes the weakest, so the Blood Crazed Zealots work overtime to get the blood pumping into the streets.

These beings are naturally sadistic, uninterested in compassion. Yet they show the potential for what Sleepers could learn, and if you're clever enough, you may even be able to get a Blood Crazed Zealot to pause and teach you a thing about your own blood type. They are ruthless and powerful, but far from irrational or stupid. Corrupt they may be, senseless they are not.

Some of you may wake up to one of these creatures torturing you or torturing a friend. You may catch them in the streets of Trench, turning a corner, and that may be your chance to follow them into the Sleeper Farm by stepping into the black holes they leave in their wake when teleporting.

The Blood Crazed Zealots can summon hooks from nowhere and snare you in their traps. They can get extremely creative and oftentimes will enjoy dragging out the agony. They know how to drain Sleepers of their blood and their powers...So how is one to even combat one of these?

Use their own game against them, of course. Blood is power and you might as well use yours. Blood Crazed Zealots are tied to their word and obey the law of the blood. If you create a blood oath with one of these Blood Crazed Zealots that's just clever enough, you may be able to protect yourself and a few others. But be careful. Blood oaths with Blood Crazed Zealots can have loopholes. Ask to be set free and they might let your body go, but keep your mind to drive you insane.

Despite their power, they are still limited in what they can do. They can't be everywhere at once, and one can hide from them. They can even be killed if a Sleeper properly regains their strength.

QUICK FACTS

1. You can create your own variation of a Blood Crazed Zealot. Their general concept is inspired by cenobites, but the general concept is a humanoid-being who looks like they have sacrificed a good deal of their body.

2. They will communicate this information openly to Sleepers who ask about it as well as tell Sleepers about other lore and facts about blood types/the Pthumerians.

3. Their powers are based on regular blood type powers (ie; a coldblood BCZ could torture people with electricity.) Some are much weaker than others.

4. They would not accept a new Sleeper who wanted to become "one of them" since they are created after decades of exposure to blood pollution.

5. People can run into these both in the Sleeper Farm and in Trench. One could convince a Blood Crazed Zealot to bring them to the Sleeper Farm in order to save others.

What CR you would like to develop for this event: Friends are always welcome, Lance jives with a pretty good range of people. I'm also a lover of complicated weird CR, like are they enemies? friends? related? Fully negative CR is welcome, as is found family and some casual dating/friends with benefits.

Timeline/Event Ideas: Lance will be recovering mentally from killing Reaper and publicly losing his mind and revealing one of the worst experiences of his life, as well as recovering physically from fighting Maul for three straight days. Legit, he's unconscious for at least two days after. On top of that he's been suffering from corruption for about a month now and it's been manifesting visibly since he killed Reaper. He's also gonna start helping to fix the damage in Prufrock and keep to himself, but I'm down for having him partake in all the event prompts more likely in the later half of the month. I will be limiting new threads this month to only those already discussed and threads with existing CR.

Mushabooming
I'm down to have an encounter with every single mushroom on the list because he's a disaster like that. He's actually got survival skills and does recognize poisonous plants from home, but these ones are new... someone please rescue him from eating the Blue Cheeks, they're blue and he trusts the color blue!

The Sleeper Farm
Down for this, though perhaps not more than once or twice. Lance has been suffering from corruption for about a month now to the point that it was somewhat physically manifesting by the end of October, so all this blood pollution and ingestion will be interesting. I plan to have him wake up in the stalls because he's been through a lot already and he'll be relieved his blood powers are gone and may even abruptly touch his stallmate(s) and hug them because holy shit, he's not absorbing their feelings and pain! The entire farm is a nightmare, but again, he's seen just as bad before, he will be rather good at keeping it together and being able to focus on getting out. He also has non-blood powers that are helpful but I'll be nerfing them too in order to make the event more interesting.

Blood-Crazed Zealots
So these guys are a horrific thing, Lance will really have a hard time with the fact that they are ancient sleepers, he'll visibly really struggle with it and I'd be interested to have that conversation about identity etc. I don't plan to have him harmed by them at all, he's gonna be more of a savior for this part of the event. If your character is being tormented by them, Lance will pretty decisively get in there and save them and he has no issues killing these guys. I'm really interested in getting creative with the zealots' manner of speaking and appearance, as well as powers. Lance won't stop to hear any of what they have to say, though. Even if it sounds like it might be important.

1. Just to check--a Sleeper sacrificing their own vital organs (heart, lungs) will die of that, correct? (If they need that organ...) Or does the organ living on in the Tower somehow sustain the Sleeper?

2. Do the BCZs need their organs or can they keep going without a heart, lungs, etcetera?

3. Would a BCZ take a blood oath in the form of a short, precisely worded contract?

Timeline/Event Ideas: pre-event is kind of up in the air because i'm waiting to see if my boyfriend's nemu app gets accepted, as a lot of my plans for this month will be dictated by his acceptance into the game ;3; his blessed day is this month so he'll have a time celebrating that alone or alone-ish or with nemu. pre-event stuff will also be taking place at lull; maybe some performance type prompts.

the mushroom hunting is cute! i want to do that and have samatoki and his omen (a snow leopard) snuffle around for mushrooms. he'll probably get way into the healing properties of walking terrors and weepers. maybe a network post will go up from him ... let me know if you wanna forage!

ok wow i love this event ok i wanna do a bunch with it lmao --

basic ideas are that samatoki is going to wake up and try to unsuccessfully cause a riot pretty much! aiming to distract the BCZ from their torture by being loud and attempting to kill any of them that he comes across. he'll probably be a scary sight to behold alone

i think that samatoki will get into the sleeper farm twice and die the second time. ???? so uh! i'm open to old CR and very open to new CR for the sleeper farm ideas! i'm also really flexible on it so hmu if you have ideas.

what's the likelihood of getting into the sleeper farm twice or more? i have immediate ideas and i'm wondering how quickly samatoki would be able to get in the second time after the first, just to flesh out my timeline a little more

Timeline/Event Ideas: pre-event ... i don't have much going on in my noggin for levi. potential castmates joining this month so we'll see! otherwise he'll just be patrolling.

mushroom hunting isn't something he's really going to be interested in but i think his omen (a crow) will be bringing him "shinies" and by "shinies" i mean, like, a bunch of mushrooms and also some random coins i guess. i'll probably make a network post for him about this

levi would also try to save folks, but he won't be nearly as reckless and bonkers as samatoki. he'd definitely save who he could and feel kind of weird about not being able to save everyone. i'm interested in playing some aftermath stuff with him!

What CR you would like to develop for this event: Stiles needs friends and he's not very good at letting people in so good luck. I'd also love to find him some mentors for fighting and magic etc. and he's a great character to have contentious CR with. Enemies are welcome as is some dating and light romance!

Timeline/Event Ideas: Stiles needs all the CR as he's still new. He's also still struggling with his situation of being possessed and not realizing he's possessed, so that's a fun factor to take into account when threading with him.

Mushabooming
I'd love for him to have unfortunate run-ins with some mushrooms like the Floaters... AND to discover the benefits of the Weepers. He has ADHD and needs help stat. I'm also open to someone else finding out he's struggling with being without adderall and trying to help with Weepers or in their own way. He's also a darkblood and can assist with the Walking Terrors. But he needs help with learning how to use his magic, he's not great at it yet.

The Sleeper Farm
Well this is a fresh hell I am happy to toss this brand new boy right into the deep end of. Stiles gets to be strung up, though I don't want to have him that hurt, he's gonna be a bit battered and very freaked out. This is gonna be the most gruesome thing he's seen in his life and will likely puke. Please let me know if you want it to be on your character. But even so, he's still a detective and will be examining every gruesome clue that can be found on all the floors and taking items, mostly as weapons. I also see this as possibly a great opportunity for Nogitsune to come out while Stiles' blood magic is weaker if anyone wants to meet that asshole.

Blood-Crazed Zealots
Clearly, I have a fetish for torturing good boys who don't deserve it because Stiles is absolutely going to be tortured by these guys. Though not before he tries to understand them somehow, observe them, even maybe try to talk? Well, at the less scary ones. He'll be impressed by all the different ways they use their magic and may pick up some tricks from the Darkblooded ones… and babble at them when they catch him. The horror of these guys being sleepers that were here too long will not be lost on him. Nogitsune can also take over here if Stiles is too weakened and will be able to break free. I'm also down for him to be saved, for team-ups and Stiles will absolutely want to take at least one of them captive to interrogate them, so who wants in on that plan?

Monthly Pacing: I usually manage to get to a tag about three hours after I get it, if I'm awake and have some free time. However, I live in the GMT+8 timezone, so some tags will def be waiting longer. What CR you would like to develop for this event: Some friends, maybe. Admittedly, Nehan isn't the easiest to get along with, but he's trying to be nicer! Also comrades with benefits, because making friends with this snarky little bastard tends to take a long time, so it'd be easier for people to have a mutual agreement with him. Scratch his back, and he'll scratch yours, etc etc. This can be anything from the exchange of goods to specific services that only specific people need and Nehan can grant, or promises to have each others' back in times of need... That sort of thing.

In a specific case, I want him to work with people who aren't paleblood for samples of those mushrooms! And he may need a minder as he actually works on those, to pull him out of trouble when he inevitably gets fucked up with testing things out. An experienced nerd-minder would be best, but budding nerd-minders are also welcome.

Open/Closed to New CR this event: Gimme both old and new CR

What CR you want to avoid this event: Given the nature of the prompts and how Nehan is disabled, I think someone who isn't helpful by personality or is accident-prone will not do well, especially with the Sleeper Farm section. Someone who gets provoked or hurt easily might not work well either, since Nehan has a sharp tongue and a really morbid sense of humor. In the Sleeper Farm, depending on how the mods get back to me, he may or may not have his eyepatch and crutch, so he's likely to make a lot more uncomfortable commentary, and need regular assistance getting around.

Timeline/Event Ideas: I'm mostly going off of the event for now, but at the end of the month or to the start of December, I'm having Nehan open up for his medicine business properly. But that will be for later.

Timeline/Event Ideas:

Mushabooming Ruby is definitely going to be collecting whatever mushrooms she can to stock up remedies for the safe houses. She'll also be willing to work in the paralytic mushroom into peoples weapons if they'd like.

Willing to have her help out or be helped out after falling victim to mushroom affects. Probably most interested in threading the paralyzing or suffocating threads. I'm not going to be subjecting her to beasthood this month but she'll definitely fight someone who has succumbed to it.

Sleeper Farm/Crazed Zealots Definitely going to have Ruby captured at some point and brought to the sleeper farm. Some mutual escaping or a rescue by either her or another person is my jam and I'd be happy to play that out. She is pretty creative when it comes to a fight and will likely be able to fashion the tools in the farm into something more makeshift but effective to escape with.

Once she regains her powers I'd like to use this as an opportunity for her to get a better handle on her powers since they've been a touch chaotic since first arrived and she wont have her regular weapon to rely on. Whether she ends up learning from Zealot or through fighting them off, both would be cool to play out.

Kind of tempted to have her make some sort of deal with a zealot to escape and have it backfire on her in the future.

Monthly Pacing: Slow and steady, for the most part. I've got a couple major projects at work for the month, but hope to take some time to myself around Thanksgiving. (Wouldn't that just be the dream?) My usual availability will be weeknight evenings (except Wednesdays) and weekend afternoons.

What CR you would like to develop for this event: Open to any and all. Definitely looking to establish some new CR through this event if at all possible. Happy to be saved or do any amount of saving. Wrench also hasn't established housing yet, so he's very much living that nomadic lifestyle. This could make him particularly vulnerable to mushrooms, or could mean that he's likely to come across others who might've been caught out by their antics.

What CR you want to avoid this event: Perfectly fine with any type. I've been MIA for the past couple of months due to life circumstances and Wrench lost the better part of his close CR from Deerington1, so he's still looking to find his place in all of this. Allies and adversaries are both equally welcome. Just as happy to have him as a protector as the one needing saving. It's all good stuff.

Timeline/Event Ideas:
Mushabooming: Yep, well, Wrench is an established forager and has long been known to play with the flora and fauna around Deer1 to harvest its properties into his lotions and potions and stuff. So absolutely, he'll be checking out what new fungal growth the Trench has to offer. As I said, it could lead to trouble for him or could put him in a position to play rescue. For his misfortune, I'm mostly interested in having him face the Walking Terrors or the Floaters. He will be a great source for Weepers.

The Sleeper Farm: I'm curious to see what permanent impact making a sacrifice might yield here, because I'm not looking to kill the guy, but I'm pretty okay with leaning far into this prompt. For the time being I'll say that Wrench will be here to play rescue to whomever he can (but would probably triage known acquaintances and friends first, of course), and that depending on the permanence of the situation... he might lose some organs or something himself, too. Especially if he's with friends or close CR and they've determined it's the only way for them to get out. He'll probably volunteer his body as sacrifice, given the closeness of the relationship. If it's not close CR you can fight him for it.

Blood Crazed Zealots: Look, yeah, why not learn a thing or two when you can? Wrench might be the guy asking "How did you do that?"

i think he'll probably keep the compass for a while but eventually hand it over to ruby. i don't mind how they get to know one another but i think mushroom stuff would be cool ;3;

General - He's mostly going to be trying to get his home/business squared away before winter really hits. Good for chill SoL opportunities.

Mushabooming - Obviously he's going to be out there gathering mushrooms, protective gear and all. Weepers and walking terrors are going to be of most interest to him, but he may get dropped like a sack of potatoes by a stray floater, or can lend your character a hand if they've fallen prey to a mean old mushroom.

The Sleeper Farm/Blood Crazed Zealots - Planning on having him pretty severely injured and partially restrained through this (those hooks are no joke), but not enough so that he's completely useless. He won't say no to any help, and will try to get others free, maybe while being pursued by a particularly sadistic zealot with a thrill for the chase a la any good slasher flick? As for escape, down for him losing more blood or a kidney or getting moon presence ex machina'd the fuck out.

And she'll totally understand why he'd want to hold onto that with everything getting twisted around over the course of the month. She'll gladly take it when he offers it.

My biggest wishes for Manabu this month are recovery and rescue. I would really like to be able to get him in a position to do some good by others - to be able to play an active role in protecting/saving others (since he has been so badly demoralized by previous events).
Friendship through survival is a big plus, so forging those kinds of bonds or strengthening them is definitely appealing to me!

What CR you want to avoid this event: One-sided negative CR that's just out to have a bad time at Manabu's expense/naivete - I really don't get anything out of it, sorry; negative stuff feels better when it's established CR with organic openings for conflict that give both parties something to work with

Timeline/Event Ideas:

-Out and about, Manabu's still disoriented from dying/respawning. Getting lost/wandering will be frequent opportunities to encounter others, and as he learns about the mushroom dangers, he will actively work to help get people out of harm's way
-Mushrooms: He can packmule for you and play lookout - good opportunity to just talk and learn abt each other c:
-Zealot conflicts: I'd be happy to help others fight off/run away from kidnappers
-Farm: As I mentioned before, I don't want to have Manabu forced into hurting people for sacrifices, but am good for protecting/rescuing/shielding them in a kind of survival-until-rescue situation
-Resource gathering: Noting the turning of seasons, Manabu can help/will accept help gathering up food/clothes/materials for leaner months
