Ruby was experienced enough with monster attacks that she knew they always happened when you least expected it. Both here and back in the dream world they had been in before arriving. Unfortunately that didn't help them in their current situation, they didn't have the room for her to pull out her weapon and powers were a no go. That sucked.

Midoriya's kick landed true and she felt the grip come loose. She pulled her foot back and quickly threw one of her own at the monsters face. It fell back a few feet and she turned to Midoriya.

"Thanks, We should probably get climbing!" And she follows her own advice and starts pulling herself up further.
