Maul thought on the offer for the moment. He wasn't all that comfortable with turning his back on the Jedi, but if he was focused on his padawan, the chances of being attacked went down. Finally, he nodded, a stiff, jerky movement.

He swiftly got out of the facility before it could explode and take them all with it. Once they were a fair distance away, he stopped and looked back at the two Jedi. Once again, he felt the echoes of things that had not happened before rising up within him. He'd fought alongside this Jedi before (or later on?
