I wish that kind of power, but disciple magic can only go so far. Besides, it feels more intimate when you're that close to them. More... personal.

In any case, it's natural for people to want to stave off death until the last second, don't you think? It's one of the great mysteries of life, after all. Not surprising that so many people are afraid of it. Honestly, I think holding onto an instinct to survive is something to admire.

Makes it all the more enjoyable when their own mortality is staring them right in the face. At least, that's how I see it. Everyone breaks, in the end.
