[He waits for Xichen to go through his belongings for a moment before daring to glance inside the bag and satisfy his own curiosity. He stares at the man and his expression softens because he can't help but think this is fairly fitting for Xichen. He looks at the bird and then looks around for his own little feathered companion. He points off towards a tree where a raven is keeping a very close eye on his surroundings.]

We each get a little animal companion when we arrive. It seems we both ended up with the feathered kind of friend.

[He was honestly just glad this world didn't have some sort of sick sense of humor and stick him with a dog following him around. The bird is far quieter and less terrifying.]
