This is Terry Silver, he's an old rich guy who is very tall and merciless. He likes threatening people in saunas, making business deals in hot tubs, ridiculous codependency, unethical karate, and long uncomfortable glances. He has pretty much the worst reputation and this time there are people who know him enough to tell the world about it, so although he might play nice for a while it'll probably come out sooner or later that he's a ruthless bastard.
Because of his canon point, I won't be ICly introducing him until the 9th, but I'm happy to plot before them!

Tory does not know the extent of how bad he can be and won't know until she's filled in on all the other details. She's at a state of not fully trusting him, but also still regards him as one of her senseis (albeit one she's less comfortable with than before). For the sake of not adding to the karate powder keg, she will pretend her last memory is of winning the All Valley sans overhearing the referee being paid off.
Her plans will be to help him with basic personal supplies - a few changes of clothes, toothbrush, etc. and stay on civil terms so that she can keep an eye on him.

Anywho, Kavinsky is rude, crude, and abrasive but manages to be a good friend if you can put up with him. He comes with a bundle of CWs that will come up from time to time (namely, suicide, drugs, and alcohol) but everything will be properly warned for. He's also a Dreamer, which means he can pull more or less literally anything he wants to out of his dreams (however, in game he's restricted from dreaming anything with too much sentience). He's a recreational forger and a drug dealer and might try to lean back on that while in game but he'll also be down for doing deals for mundane items people might want.
Now, being an asshole aside, Kavinsky is also sort of very lonely, so I'm looking forward to him making friends. He's not so bad once you get to know him and he trusts someone.

Vi is not lonely but she can be rude, crude and abrasive when she wants and has no real problems with this as a behavior. She's toned hers down but she also likes to fight for fun. Actual fun. She Mike is a sad dad in an abrasive, isolated, angry alcoholic coating with bunch of memory problems.

Kavinsky also thinks fighting is fun sometimes. They sound like they'll either get along great or hate each other, lmao. I'm canon blind to Vi but 1408 is one of my favorite movies. I used to watch it pretty much every time it came on the Syfy channel or any other channel that would play such movies.

He's a Paleblood with an albino great-horned owl named Tempo for an omen. His paleblood abilities will grow as he grows into the game with him being able to see sensory-focused visions of people's pasts through physical contact, empathic dreamwalking, and seeing daydreams of people's deepest desires/regrets but in a Perfect World kind of way. just a PSA that for a bunch of reasons outlined in his app (e.g., all the worst crimes), I have opted to bring him to Deer Country from an earlier canon point than I ended up using on the TDM. if you have threads with him from there that rely heavily on his state of mind from the end of the book series (e.g., his injuries, specific events, his state of mind), then it's probably best for us to retcon those threads and set up a brand new meet-cute/murder-cute thread in the log comm.

my interpretation of JGY's character from the novel is that, with about two extremely glaring exceptions, nearly every choice that he makes is rooted in his own need to seek safety/security and obtain what he believes is his birthright promised to his mother by his father before he was born. what I am seeking to explore is what choices he will make when that last extremely complicating factor is removed from the equation.

as for something like goals, ryouma has basically spent two lifetimes without a sense of home or belonging and always had a drive to keep him moving forward. he also runs from stuff that makes him feel sad lmao. this is a super convenient excuse to keep people away!! he's a pretty evasive guy who will find a million excuses to avoid dealing with feelings or talking about himself, but now that he's just here now he's going to have no choice but to deal with that. and maybe accept that he's entitled to have a life too??

Yeah! I didn't find out about the fourth one until way later! There's the one where Mike burns the room and (probably) lives, the one where he burns it and dies but gets reunited with Katie, the alternate one where he sends his agent a haunted manuscript called '1408', and a variation on the first one where it's the same scene only his wife doesn't acknowledge the recording of Katie's voice. (That last one's the one I found belatedly.) He is just like "fuck it idk. literally idk."

FINALLY FINISHED IT!
The Danganronpa series's main theme is finding hope in despair (behind all the gruesome deaths and dark themes) and this boy embodies that perfectly. He's gone through so much and still believes in the good in people and the world. Sometimes to the point of naivete (always well-intentioned but still). ...Due to the dark and problematic themes inside Danganronpa, I do have an opt-out for him here. Please take a look at it because I will be exploring some of these since they're a big part of his character.
As for goals...IC he's going to try to deal with the fact that he's not a part of his world anymore. He understands why but...it's a lot. And healing from all the things he wasn't able to back home. ...Which is ironic considering Deer Country lol.
As for OOC...Oh boy, do I have plans. While I'm not going to do more Test drives (new ones, old ones I'll continue), I will try to post semi-often if I can. I want him to slowly show his sad side that he hides behind his Ultimate Hope smile. And trauma galore!
He's going to hate this month since he's so irritable since he's a paleblood. All his attempts to be kind and patient to everyone (other than exceptions) just got a lot harder. You might here Natsuki (His omen (a Phoenix/Crane) on the network apologizing for him to anyone he snaps at.

She's a darkblood, btw and is going to be so dang amused by all of this on entry. Traveling across time and space and having your consciousness placed in the body of a squid? Perish the thought! Anyway, she's used to the whole traversing through time and space and universes and worlds and dealing with unknown horrors not capable of existing in the same plane of existence as mankind. She's going to be very busily exploring, toying with her newfound abilities, make friends, practice the age old skill of "Not Die", and just generally enjoying herself. As much as she can. Especially with fall around the corner! How exciting~!

He's a reserved yet very prideful former noble and water mage. He was the only son, and therefore the heir of his house. Due to his family's very high expectations, he has always strived for perfection, to the point that he hides anything his sees as a flaw under a mask of icy perfection. Sheliak was transformed into a mage when he was 16. He may look human but he's secretly a being made of magic that is tied to a human soul and body. Basically magic doesn't naturally exist in the real world so it needs a human tether to anchor it in reality. Sheliak has conflicted feelings about his magic, whose sole purpose is to destroy the barrier between the real and magic world, potentially ending the world in the process. He hides a lot behind that stoic mask of his. (If your curious what else he's hiding, here is his app, along with his opt out and permissions)
Sheliak's lover's dying wish was for him to live for himself, instead of blindly following others. This is my long term goal for Sheliak here but he has a long way to go. He has dedicated his entire life to the Saarela name, even going as far as to hide huge parts of his personality so he wouldn't risk tarnishing the family name, and loyalty is how he copes with things he can't control. He will also stubbornly insist that he doesn't need anyone. Please help him but fair warning, he's an arrogant bastard with a lot of toxic elitism to work though. However if you can get past that he's not a bad guy.
He's a coldblood and his omen is going to be a small griffin that he is hesitant to name. When a mage is weak they turn into a small animal. Sheliak's is a water snake, it's like a mix between a pipe fox and a sea serpent. Normally his water snake could turn into a puddle of water but for a fun coldblood detail, I was thinking of his snake being able to turn into a patch of ice, small flame or a small storm cloud depending on his mood. Back to the griffin, Arrakis, Sheliak's lover, turned into a small white griffin. In many ways, Arrakis influence is the best part of Sheliak and a griffin watching over him is perfect. Sheliak is reluctant to replace Arrakis though so he doesn't want to give his omen a name. This is something I want to play with early in the game. I'm not sure what occupation to give him yet.
I'm open to continuing the few tdm threads I have. I sort of rushed in at the last minute so I don't mind handwaving them if that's easier.
