Adam's smile softens to something a bit sad. He hadn't known them, but they'd been Takashi's friends.

"No. I'm sorry. They aren't here anymore."

He wants to reach out to the boy as he shivers, but some instinct stops him. Instead he tries to quicken their pace a touch, to get him to where there were fires and more warm clothes.

"We dated back home, but we'd broken up. We got back together in Deerington and were married there just over a year ago." A soft chuckle. "Not a conventional place for a honeymoon."
