Yeah...they're not the best sometimes. Mostly you'll find more information from people who've been stuck here for a long time, or locals in places like the market, docks, library, stuff like that. The welcome group really isn't all that, uh...knowledgeable. S'why I like to help when I can with people that show up like you did. Oh gosh, yeah, the no money thing takes a LOT of getting used to... You can usually trade goods and just trinkets and stuff you find around. Some people let you work off debts, or just do them small favors and jobs. And uh...you can also pay in blood. From a drop you a vial, it depends.
If you need anything, let me know, I have a small garden I'm working on, and I love to cook and bake. I'm also pretty good at haggling and stuff - a lot of the shopkeeps know me, since I do the majority of the shopping for the house.
