-ah, please, don't get me wrong! It's not like any of it's bad? Of course it's not bad. J- that girl, that one that got sent for liking girls, she was one of the best people in camp. She was so nice, and so cool, and so effortlessly good at just. Everything? And the other girl, the one the first girl liked - I mean, I guess they liked each other, it was kind of obvious? But as much as she talked about being bad, and tried to bully us, and she definitely slapped me that one time... She was so much nicer than any of the counselors. She was mean because she was so nice. Does that make any sense?

...I was probably the worst of our three. [ he says it with a surprising neutrality. like he's just doing a quick evaluation. ] I wasn't really any good with people, or sports, or any of that stuff. I let people lie to me, and I don't stand up when we're dwelling in sin or whatever the bonfire captain wants to call it. The devil would have been me, for sure.
