They will only respond violently if they feel that their beliefs are being challenged to a point that makes them uncomfortable/could cause doubt (especially if those questions cause any doubt within themselves). If they're just questions to get a better understanding of the world/religion, then it shouldn't cause an issue.
1) They have! All the people within the alternate world are originally from Trench and with the 1:1 ratio in days, they would age the same as those in the original Trench. Since the patron Pthumerians have been around for a very, very long time, it's easy to assume they'd know the same as any other local about them. They just don't think they're as powerful as Riteoir.
2) He does, but the relation is (currently) unknown by anyone, including the cultists. They will make it sound like Riteoir existed alongside Julia, even, but there's no proof this is true, and the versions of how he existed are so varied, that it's impossible to figure out which one could even start to be rooted in fact.
3) The fire is only burning in the alternate universe. It is unknown how it started, just that it always existed, and the cult believes that Riteoir chose to make it burn as opposed to it being a natural fire. Given the screams and the location, it wouldn't be an unwarranted jump in logic to relate it back to the original fires, and there are definitely those who think that it has something to do with it, but there isn't anything that would confirm this at the moment.
