"I've learned my lesson about trying to take on monsters far above my magical and physical weight class too many times to count at this point. Especially ones that come from the sea," Sayo says. For a moment her eyes go glassy as she flashes back to that first confusing week in Nephele-that-isn't after she and Forneus overextended themselves trying to fight a similar monster, nearly sending her mind careening to the Fragment latched onto her soul, but she anchors herself before she can go too far. "I figured my talents would be better suited to saving other people without the firepower to go up against something like that."

The shop is, at least, comfy and secure, and... odd feeling, somehow. Like it's somehow out of bounds, a place where "a principle character" shouldn't exist. A few of the other Trenchies who Sayo rescued are all huddling in the back, waiting out the monster attack and still clearly scared out of their minds. Sayo taps her chin as she looks at them, brow furrowed. "Hm, perhaps..." She snaps her fingers and starts rearranging the tables and chairs, and, with a flourish, begins serving tea... apparently out of nowhere. "Come, come, everyone. No point in worrying about what's going on outside, I'm sure someone else will take care of it soon. In the meantime, I'm sure some tea will prove a suitable distraction."

A classic trick: misdirection from the real sleight of hand, to keep everyone from panicking about the monster just outside. "You too. Call it a hunch, but I have a feeling you're the type to enjoy a good spot of tea," she says over her shoulder at Oberon.
