Chaos in Cassandra [Mini Player Plot]


Hello, Deerlings ♥

This mini-event set for July 28-ish in Cassandra gives your character a chance to:

• Team up with Sleepers for ridiculous "Home Alone meets Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame" style of looney tunes shenanigans


• Go apeshit on some Trenchies (or maybe Sleepers) during a literal mob


• Show off intel-gathering skills


• Be a hero by helping this sweet lil family escape (I MEAN, LOOK AT THEM, HOW CAN YOU SAY NO)


• Piss off some locals and maybe get chased outta town for any length of time

If one (or more) of these things are of interest to you, then strap in! You're in the right place, buddy.

I. The Inciting Incident

July is the month of the Reckoning. In the wake of Mariana's soothing ritual, Trenchies are still furious over Mariana's defilement (courtesy of Boatgate)...and they're itching for a scapegoat. Vyng (who's been working as both an Arcane Scholar and a Disciple) is a convenient target. According to the rumors, this is because: 1) His role in the soothing ritual was wayyyy too close to directly communing with a Patron Pthumerians in their eyes, 2) He's had tensions with Disciples in the past due to his particular powerset mixed with a desire to understand Pthumerians, and 3) to add insult to injury, he's a Warmblood who lacks potential in blood magic.

Tensions come to a head when Vyng — whose body is still weak from the ritual — is strung up to be burned at the stake. (You know, like an old-fashioned witch burning.)

Tuck will swing in to save him, get to a nearby abandoned building, and BELLOW AS LOUD AS A BELL RINGING THROUGH THE NEIGHBORHOOD that it is a sanctuary now.


This is totally how it looks in Tuck's head, guys.

...He saw it in a play once. That's how things work in this world, right? (It is not.)

II. The Siege & Escape

With a little help from a friend or two, Tuck and co. will claim an abandoned (?) house for themselves. Of course, hunkering down into a hidey-house will not quell the mob. They have their pitchforks and torches, and they are on a mission for a proper ROAST.

Potential ways characters can be involved:

• Alert other Sleepers of shit going down in Cassandra (via network or otherwise)


• Defend the house (either from inside or outside)


• TRAPS??


• Go vigilante or full-on beast on Trenchies in the mob


• Hell, go vigilante (!?) on anyone defending these chucklefucks**


• Be Evil and spread C H A O S (if that's your bag)


• Collect and share intel about possible escape routes to the nearest lamp location


• Crowd-thinning (peaceful or otherwise)


• Escape assistance

**Note: If your character falls on the Trenchies' side of The Roastening, they will have to contend with either a housecat-sized child (with a serious bodycount) or a 7-foot-tall, 5-foot-wide warrior (with a semi-sentient axe). Alternatively, you will likely make a friend for life if they see you helping even a little bit.

(Incidentally, it would be funny if this house actually belonged to someone, or they were intending to fix it up for something. If that's something you're interested in, let us know!)

III. Aftermath

With their main target gone, some of the townspeople might turn their anger toward Sleepers who thwarted their BBQ. Anybody looking to escape the heat is welcome to crash at Trenchwood Farm with Vyng's fam for awhile. It's far enough from town that mobs shouldn't be a problem here. All misfists and outcasts are welcome!

Ways characters can be involved:

• Wellness checks (tending wounds, general check-ins with folks who were involved)


• Extra protection/patrols for anyone who might need it (the farm, other Sleepers, etc.)


• Revenge (that's always a good idea, right?)

Vyng Vang Zoombah | Spout Lore

Character Name: Vyng Vang Zoombah

Feelings about witch-burnings: No thank you, he's a vegetarian

Possible Involvement in Cassandra:

- Inciting Incident:

Will Vyng be taking any of this seriously? Absolutely not.

At least, not at first. Turns out, he is secretly immune to fire and heat. He will get into a cranky squabble with an unnamed Coldblood over whether the fire even stays lit in the first place — likely with the same energy as a two siblings snatching the TV remote away from each other. (If anybody wants to volunteer for this, you are welcome to. Otherwise, an NPC will do it.)

Unfortunately, Vyng is not immune to bludgeoning damage. He will get clocked in the head by a stray boot from the crowd, and he will pass out from smoke inhalation (WHOOPS).

Tuck will be saving him during this part.

- Siege, Mob & Escape

If someone could help revive him from the smoke inhalation while inside the house, that would be great.

He is also currently blind, and may need to borrow someone's eyes while he scours the area for resources to use to fend off the mob. He can also share vision with anyone providing intel about the outside area.

He will be AVOIDING killing Trenchies if possible, and is open to team-ups in anything that will impede, scare or draw them away. His giant bird friend Cloudpiercer might spiritually manifest from the flames to assist. If the situation gets bad enough, Vyng will try to climb out the window and ride fire!Cloudepiercer in an attempt to lure the mob away from the house (though whether that's a GOOD idea is a different issue). If anybody wants to play decoy by posing as Vyng or creating illusions for maximum chaos, that's rad too.

Also, as mentioned in the main post — if you want to have this building retroactively belong to your character in some way for the fun of it, let us know. We can hash something out, heheh

Possible Aftermath:

He will be staying in Trenchwood Farm and lying low with his family while he convalesces. As far as he's concerned, anyone who needs a similar break from town is welcome — especially if they aided his family in some way.

That said, he'd be grateful if people offered to keep watch or occasionally patrol the grounds on some nights.

Content Preferences: I'm down for whatever — whacky hijinks, dramatic stuff, chances for your character to be a badass. Vyng is very good at enabling other people's terrible ideas. If anybody has a crazy plan they want to do, he'd likely help however he can.

Tuck | Spout Lore

Character Name: Tachome Dhaume

Feelings about witch-burnings:

Tuck is Notre Dameing the hell out of this auto-da-fè!!! Whomever would like to help him thin out the crowd while he comes in Quasimodo style and saves Vyng, I'm here for it.

I think Qrow(?) will be one of the Sleepers helping to locate the abandoned building and help clear a path to it. Others interested in thinning out the numbers are welcome!

Possible Involvement in Cassandra:

So I am here for the Vyng saving and the Home Alone-esque antics that will be running around all over the now-proclaimed Sanctuary Sleepers find themselves stuck in. There will be brick throwing competitions to see who can get the highest body count, there will be traps, anything you can think of that you might find in an old abandoned building is fair game. Trip wires, broken glass, handmade slingshots, whatever it takes to keep the Trenchies out and Vyng safe.

Possible Aftermath:

Tuck is laying low with Vyng and Billie at the farm once all is said and done. Haven't thought of anything noteworthy to do with the aftermath, but if people want to check up on Tuck or the fam let me know!

Content Preferences:

Long-winded fights I'd like to avoid! Totally down to play them, I just like to plan them out OOCly, and then wrap them up in a few tags so they don't bog down the rest of the thread. I'm REALLY just looking for excuses to do dumb Home Alone shenanigans

Michael | The Good Place

Character Name: Michael

Feelings about witch-burnings: Very bad!

Possible Involvement in Cassandra: Michael is already struggling with significant levels of Corruption, having isolated himself in his home for much of this month. Hearing of the threat to Vyng and his family will be enough to draw him out even so - they're his housemates, and Vyng in particular is his close friend.

However, the stress of seeing a mob trying to burn his friend at the stake will cause Michael to snap and become a Beast for the first time - specifically, the Celestial beast described here. In this state, he will indiscriminately kill anyone who is trying to attack the house, Trenchie or Sleeper, though he won't attack anyone who isn't......observably or to his knowledge evil.

Possible Aftermath: Someone is definitely going to need to either kill or otherwise de-beast Michael! In this beast form, he won't defend himself if he's attacked by someone he considers "good", so nearly anyone can do this. Once the mob situation dies down, he'll just be.....you know, wandering Trench at random doing beast things. Killing for justice and all that.

Content Preferences: Most of this is just him going completely nuts and not really being himself! He will kill a lot of people! Let me know if you want him to kill your character!

Fat Billie | Spout Lore

Character Name: Fat Billie

Feelings about witch-burnings: Not a big fan! Especially when it's one of his parents being burned!

Possible Involvement in Cassandra: He is 100% going to try to fight the mob. He'll more than likely kill at least a couple Disciples - maybe some Cobra Kai 'No Mercy' yells for Johnny. He'll help set up Home Alone style traps at the abandoned house too.

Possible Aftermath: He's going to stay at the farm with his family in the aftermath, laying low mostly. He will probably feel guilty about any deaths he's caused too. Once he's over it, he might go revenge prank some choice locations in Cassandra (toilet papering, flaming poop bags, etc).

Content Preferences: Come at me.

Luz Noceda | The Owl House

Character Name: Luz Noceda!

Feelings about witch-burnings: Well seeing as how Luz is an actual witch, not good feelings about it. At all.

Possible Involvement in Cassandra: Luz lives in Cassandra, so she'll get wind of what's going on and will be helping! She can be Vyng's eyes if needed (she can still turn into a bird, so that'll be helpful, and Luz has her glyphs, so she can totally defend and offensively take out raiding Trenchies!

Possible Aftermath: Luz lives in Cassandra, so she won't be laying low anywhere! She will, however, be trying to put out fires so the city isn't further damaged.

Content Preferences: I'd like Luz to meet some new buddies (and say hi to old ones) as well as have Luz short grapple with the idea of hurting people before ultimately deciding its the best course of action!
