[Unlike the cooking, Gil is less concerned about how many people Break has basically adopted, he's merely curious. Break may be a crotchety, eccentric old man, and he often made Gil feel as if he was going mad, but he is the adult figure who mentored and basically raised Gil after Oz was dragged into the Abyss. He can deny and dodge it as much as he wants, Gil knows he cares in his own roundabout way.
