What CR you would like to develop for this event: As always, I'm open to most anything—friends, enemies, mentors, fellow kids, fellow immortals, fight buddies, etc. For this event, I'm also hoping to deepen existing CR through the Tether prompt. More on that later.
Open/Closed to New CR this event: Wonderkind is open, but I'd prefer CR the Operator has met at least once before for From Within and Without.
What CR you want to avoid this event: Not interested in any shippy stuff!

Timeline/Event Ideas:

1. Wonderkind: Definitely hoping to throw the Operator at some monsters for this prompt, either from their own canon or from others! The Operator can fire Void energy beams from their hands, which can burn or disintegrate enemies, but they don't have much in ways of physical strength/defense. Thus, team-ups are ideal for them! I'll be having some Infested monsters show up from their own world for fighty times. In this case, the Infested will be former humans twisted beyond recognition into horrible abominations that psychically scream about THE COALESCENCE OF FLESH AND UNIVERSAL WILL and BECOMING THE VESSEL THROUGH WHICH IMMORTALITY IS ACHIEVED. So, that's fun. The Infested can be killed by normal means, but their bodies must be incinerated or otherwise destroyed afterward to prevent the infection from spreading. Did I mention it spreads through spores? The Operator will absolutely be trying to bundle their fighting comrades off to the Blood Ministers following the fight to make sure they're okay and won't be taking "no" for an answer :,D

2. From Within and Without: So, the Operator has... unpleasant associations with doppelgangers from back home. Very unpleasant. Basically, they're perpetually haunted by an eldritch god that likes to show up as their doppelganger to terrorize them every now and then. However, this doppelganger never bothers to get the resemblance exactly right, appearing with starry black or silver eyes rather than the Operator's own and with a distorted, echoing version of their own voice. That said, there is an account of another of the entity's victims who saw it appear as his perfect twin and was basically driven insane by the encounter. Thus, when the Operator sees their doppelganger looking and sounding exactly like them, it will freak them all the way the fuck out. Fortunately, since arriving in Trench, they've learned some valuable lessons about opening up to and relying on others, so they'll be seeking out the closest familiar person they can find and asking them for help, probably in no small amount of panic. Where things go from there, I'll leave up in the air! I'm happy to have the other person succeed and save the Operator from their Tether or have them fail and lose the Operator to beasthood. Maybe there's even a third option? I'm really open to anything here!
