[The silence did kind of drag a bit between them, and it felt heavy and awkward. But Keith was afraid to break it, afraid that he'd say the wrong thing and just piss Lance off again. He honestly liked how easy things had become for them back home, how they could talk to each other now, and spend time around each other without arguing... how the teasing was more just them being dorks and fooling around, not trying to actually be mean anymore.

The explanation actually caused quite a few different emotions to hit Keith at once. First, there was the whole "this has happened to others and not just him" kind of relief when Lance reveals that he was there before, and that being around previously while not remembering it was kind of A Thing in this place. He wondered if that had to do with multiple realities or something... multiple versions of them and therefore, multiple options for pulling them from home and into this place.
But then he said that... about out-doing him. Really? They were back to this? Keith narrowed his eyes, glaring slightly over his soup bowl at the comment. He was watching Lance closely enough to notice the glow this time, but sort of misremembering how Lance had described the paleblood thing earlier and attributing it to that for the moment.]
