[Lance sits down with his own soup back in the spot he was before, and he sips it once and that's it. His expression goes distant as he takes in the emotion that comes off of Keith and tries not to let it mingle with the ball of emotion he's buried so deep.
That can happen sometimes, he feels someone's emotion and it dislodges something in him. After a long moment of grappling with his internal conflict while on the outside looking like a statue staring at nothing, he shakes himself out of it. He doesn't need to be an empath to know that Keith's simple thanks and the silence that follows is because of how Lance is acting.
He swirls the little wooden spoon in the small bowl for a moment, watching it. Then he comes up with something to give him so he's not sitting there in the dark and confused. Brushing this close to the truth out loud is risky, but not doing it is too. He's gonna find out at least this much eventually, anyway.]

[His voice cracks with grief, and then anger and frustration seeps in and he recognizes that that's what is making his hands shake. This is easier, anger is easier to process than everything else, but it does set off another small glow. He abruptly stands again, his back turned to Keith as he crosses his arms tightly.]
