[Lance can't hold back the broken sounding laugh that turns into uncontrolled, hollow giggles that he chokes on. He coughs, pounding a fist to his chest as he brings one hand up to cover his eyes.]
O-oh man, that's- [snort.] That's a good point, man. But, trust me… whatever you feel like doing to blow off some steam, most these people have definitely seen worse.
[His body shudders again as he tries to swallow another chuckle and he makes himself count backwards from ten in his head. There's nothing actually funny about this, about the fact that people turn into rampaging monsters when they freak out enough around here… or that the last time he personally freaked out near another person, he nearly killed Keith.
But the irony of it coupled with the abrupt reminder of all the stuff that they went through long before this nightmare just sort of… clashed together and broke something in his brain for a second. It all feels like another lifetime ago, and the reminder was almost comforting, even if Keith was referring to things he's personally ashamed of. But at the same time, it tore open some wounds he now has to try and treat.
And above all, he genuinely doesn't want Keith to bottle it up unnecessarily, to suffer through and swallow it until he breaks. Again. He lets out a huff and clears his throat to continue.]
Don't worry, your thoughts are safe from me and thank the creepy squid gods for that because I definitely don't wanna know what goes on under that mullet.
