Ah, unfortunately, no, not on any wide scale. I mean, you read about it in history books about colonial-era America, or even older times, but it's mostly died out, except maybe in the rural areas. I'd done business with a merchant who traded goods for whatever local folk had to offer, sort of a local fixer. He's how I got that revolver. [And then some. He can't help thinking of The Duke and the help he'd given out of sheer altruism, any time he trades some beach glass or smooth stones for a bowl of soup or a cup of coffee.] No idea how that followed me, or how any of our stuff gets here.
